Jane's Backyard Chickens: Birdwatching

American Merganser Babies.


I love my Panasonic Lumix digital camera. The three main features are a 12x zoom, image stabilization and burst mode. If you want to capture wildlife you really need a burst mode.

I took these pictures this morning. This first picture is where I was. In my living room, shooting through the glass with no zoom. The mergansers are right below. I am zoomed in 12x to capture them. I then cropped the pictures even closer and resized them for the web.

This is the second time I have seen this group. They were diving and playing this morning so I couldn't tell if all nine were still there.
